Dubna SEZ resident completes equipping its pharma plant with automated filling and packaging lines worth 2.5 bln rubles.
A resident of the Dubna special economic zone — Argumentum Pharma — is entering the home stretch of a large-scale investment project. According to the regional Ministry of Investments, the plant's production facilities are fully prepared, and automated drug filling and packaging lines have already been installed on site.
The key feature of the new equipment is full automation of the production process: the lines are designed for automatic filling of bottles, ampoules and syringes. This format virtually eliminates the human factor and is especially important for sterile dosage forms, where GMP compliance directly depends on equipment, engineering systems and clean-zone organization.
Total investment in the project reaches 2.5 billion rubles. About 100 jobs are planned to be created at the plant.
"All production processes will comply with international GMP standards. This will ensure the output of high-quality import-substituting drugs, strengthen the country's pharmaceutical security and allow the company to strengthen its market position," emphasized CEO Oleg Levchenko.
The first product of the new plant will be an innovative drug for treating cardiovascular diseases. The enterprise will focus on producing medicines from the list of Essential and Vital Medicines :
- agents to stabilize blood pressure during surgical interventions;
- drugs for the treatment of hypertension and tachycardia;
- myocardial infarction therapy;
- painkillers, including obstetric practice.
Financial support came from the federal Industrial Development Fund, which granted 900 million rubles of concessional financing specifically for the purchase of technological equipment; another 150 million rubles came from the Moscow Region FRP. Notably, a significant share of the equipment — engineering infrastructure elements, quality control systems and specialized installations — must be supplied by Russian manufacturers, making the project an example of production-infrastructure localization.
For the first phase, capacity of more than 55 million units of medicines per year was declared. For the Russian pharma industry, completion of the complex means the emergence of another sterile-production site with automated filling into several types of primary packaging.
The next key stage will be passing permitting procedures and actually commissioning the enterprise — before the end of 2026. Other pharma projects are also developing at the Dubna site in parallel: Altegra has already launched a beta-lactam antibiotics workshop, and PSK Pharma produces a drug for severe retinal diseases.
