Moscow contract cosmetics maker GSS Cosmetics has started producing exclusive-shaped PET bottles on its own GMP line.
Moscow contract cosmetics maker GSS Cosmetics has brought in-house production of plastic containers to the market: the company began producing exclusive-shaped bottles on a line set up at its Pushkino production complex in line with GMP standards.
The key feature of the implemented solution is high adaptability. The company notes the equipment can be quickly reconfigured for any task to produce bottles of complex, unusual geometry, which previously required lengthy coordination with foreign suppliers.
Key parameters of the new line:
- blow-molding of bottles from 50 to 500 ml;
- popular neck finishes 24/410 and 28/410;
- wide-neck jars of 89 mm;
- PET material in any color, from transparent to full-color;
- minimum order — from 3,000 units;
- full cycle from 3D model and mold to test batch — on average 45 days.
GSS Cosmetics' investment in own blow-molding is driven by the deep transformation of the cosmetics market. According to NielsenIQ, amid active brand switching, visual identity has become a key sales tool: over 70% of shoppers make cosmetic purchase decisions at the shelf.
"By 2026, the number of Russian cosmetics manufacturers may grow 3.5 times, making a unique bottle shape a must for brand survival," experts at New Retail note.
Experts confirm that using an original mold instead of standard solutions boosts product recognition by 15–20%. GSS Cosmetics stresses that localizing container production and filling at one site shortens the supply chain and time-to-market, helping clients react faster to retail demand.
The new facility meets the growing demand of Russian brands for original packaging as a differentiation tool, enabling recognizable bottle formats without dependence on imported capacity.
