"The Protey Plant" has increased the capacity of production of plastic packaging by 80% — up to 800 million vials and cans per year.
The Russian market of cosmetic packaging continues to be actively localized. One of the industry leaders, JSC "Plant Protey", announced the opening of a second production site in Zhukov, Kaluga region. The new complex is designed to produce polymer packaging for cosmetics, household chemicals, food and dietary supplements.
Total investments in capacity expansion exceeded 4 billion rubles, of which 500 million rubles were provided by the Industrial Development Fund (EDF) in the form of a concessional loan under the "Development Projects" program. Due to the new site, the total capacity of the company for the production of plastic products increased by 80% — up to 800 million vials and cans, as well as up to 850 million caps per year.
The main technological feature of the project is monostad production of PET packaging, when a finished product is obtained from PET granules in one technological cycle.
"Monostad production of PET packaging is considered the most technologically advanced and is successfully used in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. The demand for monostad packaging continues to grow, including due to the active localization of cosmetic production in Russia," said Dmitry Naidenov, founder of JSC "Plant Protey".
This approach ensures high quality, no damage and a premium appearance of the finished container. The funds from the preferential loan from the FRP were used to purchase a complex of high-performance injection molding equipment, molds, a centralized system for loading raw materials, a cooling system, as well as equipment for moving and packaging products.
Key indicators of the new project:
- Investments — more than 4 billion rubles;
- Loan from the Federal Reserve Fund - 500 million rubles ("Development Projects" program);
- The area of the new site is 36,000 square meters. meters;
- Capacity growth — by 80%, up to 800 million vials and cans + 850 million caps per year;
- New jobs — almost 300.
The expansion of production is directly related to the growing demand for premium packaging for cosmetics, household chemicals and dietary supplements due to import substitution in these industries. Previously, the company had already mastered the extrusion blowing of low-pressure polyethylene (HDPE) packaging, which is resistant to aggressive substances, recyclable and capable of applying a tactilely pleasant soft-touch coating.
The launch of the new "Protey Plant" site is another step towards the formation of an independent cluster in Russia for the production of full—cycle cosmetic packaging, from raw materials to finished containers on the shelf.
